Rough Weekend for John Holleman at the Madhouse

John Holleman headed to Bowman Gray Stadium (NC) on Friday and Saturday, July 31st and August 1st, for two nights of racing in two different styles of race cars. While he was looking for victory lane twice, he had a rough outing, finishing behind his intended goal.

On Friday, the once-a-year Legends events took place. In a combined division of Young Lions and Semi Pro drivers, Holleman (a Semi Pro) started fifth, and looked to be on his way to a victory for his division, but a last-lap incident took that away, relegating him to a sixth-place finish overall, fourth for the Semi Pro drivers.

On Saturday, Holleman strapped into his NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Sportsman division car for the feature, starting from the third position. While making a move for second, another competitor cut off his line, which resulted in a cut tire and a broken sway bar. Holleman headed to the pits to replace the tire, but ran the rest of the race without the sway bar. He finished seventh.
